GEMS (Girls)

GEMS Girls’ Clubs (“Girls Everywhere Meeting the Saviour”) is a program for girls from grade 2 through 8. The focus is on bringing girls into a living relationship with Jesus Christ. To help foster this all-important relationship between each girl and Christ, the girls are organized into small groups, with one leader or counselor for each group of six to eight girls.

In club, many fun and exciting things happen:

  • Develop important life skills through badge activities
  • Learn how to apply the Bible to your life
  • Make creative and fun crafts
  • Participate in service projects that make a difference in other’s lives
  • Find answers to challenges that face girls today

    • A relational interaction between youth and youth as well as youth and leaders.
    • A community where the youth can feel safe, secure & loved, where the youth can discover and respond to questions about life and faith.
    • A balanced and holistic ministry programming that includes recreation, worship, fellowship, service, and education.

Women

Women’s Retreat 2023

We are pleased to have Brigette Vanhuisstede lead us again at this retreat. She will speak on “Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.” Genesis 16: 13b (ESV).
Together we will focus on the stories/ characters/ circumstances of Genesis 16 and 21; what they reveal about the God who leads His people (the sojourners) back Home.
We are all characters and sojourners traveling through this life and seeking to find our way Home. The stories in the Bible give us hope, direction, and a challenge to trust in the everlasting God who is leading us.

Join us Saturday April 15th, 10:00 am to 8:00pm  at New Street Church for a day of worship, teaching and fellowship as a community and to hear how we are sojourners on the way home . Snacks, lunch and dinner will be provided.
Worship will be lead by Stephanie Scholman, Grace Dekker and Alida Glasbergen

Cost: $40. This can be sent to Ingrid Bowen (ingridhbowen@gmail.com) as an e-transfer. Please make “retreat” the password for any e transfers and indicate Women’s Retreat in the comment box. PLEASE PAY WITHIN 24 HOURS OF REGISTERING. CONTACT INGRID IF YOU WANT TO PAY BY CASH OR CHEQUE.

This is a place where neighbours love neighbours, healthy meals are provided and there is community for those experiencing poverty and social isolation. This facility is managed by Angie Crichton and she will join us during the day to highlight this ministry.

There will be a craft session during the day. We will need magazines for this session so please save and bring any you can collect.

Special Ministries

Friendship

friendshipAt Friendship, we minister with people who have mental impairments, not to them. We believe that we serve each other, and by learning and spending time with each other, friendships are formed. We believe that everyone is created in God’s image and that redemption is a gift from God that is not dependent on a level of intelligence. We also believe that our church is complete only when it includes all of God’s own children and when all people are seen as equals-in God’s eyes and in our own eyes.

Time: Wednesday evenings 7:00 – 8:15 PM
